About Me

John Preble is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with thirty-nine years of experience in Social Services including thirty-seven years as a Psychotherapist in private practice.

His experience as a clinician includes working with Individuals, Couples, Families and Groups.

He has worked in various settings including private non-profit settings, residential group home and private practice.

He was Coordinator of The Early Childhood Program for severely emotionally disturbed children at the Child Guidance Center in Fullerton, California.

He has served as a case consultant to community agencies and individual clinicians throughout southern California on clinical issues related to child abuse.

He is a co-author with A. Nicholas Groth of Male Victims of Sexual Abuse: Addressing Their Sexual Response. He was a guest lecturer for Forensic Mental Health Associates and has presented on various aspects of child abuse at numerous professional workshops and conferences throughout Southern California.

He served as a full-time lecturer and field liaison at the School of Social Work at California State University San Bernardino and California State University Fullerton. He continues to teach part-time as an adjunct instructor at the Department of Social Work and Social Ecology at Loma Linda University.
